Welcome to our new page! I would like to announce my collaboration with Philadelphia Praise Center Church, and our new and improved After School Club
As some of you may know, I have been running an in-home daycare business for almost 5 years. The business has rewarded me in so many ways. I had the privilege to watch babies grow into toddlers, and toddlers grow into school age children. I was able to make so many smiles, that have warmed my heart through the years. However, with the kids getting older, my passion has expanded, and my goal now is to work with school age children to give them quality programs and extra-curricular activities that have been cut by our school system.
Philadelphia Praise Center (PPC) has been a refuge for many immigrants in South Philadelphia for the past 6 years. Not only are they a church, but they are also a community resource hub. Regardless of religious beliefs, the church opens their arms and their hearts to anyone that is in need. PPC have also held many events for children. They have held numerous summer camps free of charge for many children in the community. They provided guest teachers with music programs, dance, and arts.
WIth our visions aligned, it was only natural to team up and start a program together.
Our Mission: We plan on being a self sufficient program that no longer needs to beg for government funding that is barely there, and risk getting cut. We no longer want to charge parents and make money a barrier between children and quality education. So, how will we fund this program?
With our soon to be Thrift Store, we hope that prospective buyers, like yourself, not only get a quality item that you can use, but understand that the item you plan on buying goes straight to the after school club, which allows a child in need the opportunity to learn more, get homework help, and have a safe haven to hang out, and stay off the streets.
Fun Fact: Every child who gets more attention and help for homework, receives a grade level higher on the next report card period.
